During Hitler's time as a ruler Hitler much much of the power. First, he helped the economy by providing jobs and made work projects. By doing this people were convinced he was a good man, and wanted to help Germany. He then created the Brownshirts. They were brought together to harass oppositions parties unmercifully. The Brownshirts made Hitler look intimidating. This was the paramilitary force for Hitler. Hitler also took over other countries such as Poland, Czech, etc.....Another example of how Hitler gained power would be through the Enabling Act. The Enabling Act allowed power Hitler to pass laws without consulting the Reichstag. There were many steps Hitler took to gain his power in Europe, and they definitely resulted in the gruesome outcome of the Holocaust.
Weimar Republic was hit with challenges from the start. First, the government was in a tough position as both right and left wing did not have any respect for the government. It was then very hard for the government to be successful in making good choices for Germany. In addition, Royalists did not support the government because it was a "socialist government who told Kaiser to abdicate". The leader, Ebert, was then isolated. He could no longer hold control power over Germany. Another challenge was that the Spartacists and Freikorps were trying to attempt to overthrow the government. Both having different reasons for overthrowing the government. Mussolini then stepped in and used "blackshirts" as a parliamentary force, which was a private army as his. The coming into power in 1923 after the March in Rome. He then brings upon the ideology of Fascism. This includes private ownerships, militaristic, nationalistic, censorship of media, etc.
The movie Life is Beautiful was a very powerful film between the love of father and son. Born Jewish Italian, Guido falls in love with a woman at first sight. Both marry and have a child during the uprising of Hitler. As years pass Guido and his son are taken by soldiers. Before they leave Guido's wife demands to be put on the train, even though she is not Jewish. To help is son, he explain that they are playing a game and you must get 1000 points to win the game. My thoughts on the film was that the plot was very interesting and funny at some scenes. Also, sad moments especially when the children and the older people were killed. I loved how Guido was able to make a bad situation a happy one all for his son. I was shocked when Guido was killed suddenly, but happy when his son rejoiced with his mother in the end and was able to ride a tank. Overall, I though the movie was very thought-provoking and very well written.
